Happy Birthday, Abigail!!

Our little girl is 3 years old now, can you believe it?

We are throwing her a birthday party with all of her friends on the 17th, so today the family celebrated with a couple of small presents and a birthday dinner of Abby's choice. Guess what she chose for her birthday dinner after numerous suggestions.......a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

This past Sunday, Paul's parents came up to celebrate Abby's birthday. Abby had been requesting a pink butterfly cake for her birthday for as long as I can remember, so I gave it my best shot.

Here is the result.

Pink butterfly confetti cake. There was no good place on the cake to write a birthday message, so it ended up on the foil. It says: "Happy 3rd Birthday, Dearest Abigail!!!"

Abby received a bunch of Princess related gifts, mainly dress-up clothes, to her utter delight.

Last year, she still didn't quite get the excitement of birthday celebrations, but turning 3 has been a really, really big deal for her and I'm glad we are able to celebrate over the course of several days, starting July 4th and lasting through July 17th. Hopefully, she doesn't get used to this much attention, though!

The girls waiting for Grandpa and Grandma Newell to arrive...also, Kayleigh discovers wrist rattles.

This weekend we will finish shopping for party favors to give out during the 7/17 party and we are still shopping for the perfect birthday gift for Abby. I know, we're so delinquent on the gift for Abby this year, but we want to get her something special, yet all she really seems interested in are princess-themed items and there are only so many princess things a parent can take, plus the grandparents, great-aunts/uncles, and great-grandmas have really covered the princess gifts well! Paul and I have a few ideas, so we just need to make a decision.

With turning 3 also comes the 3 year check-up and Abby is doing "perfect" in hitting all of the developmental milestones, according to her doctor.

3-Year Checkup Stats - 7/2/10
Height: 38 inches (75th %-ile)
Weight: 31 lbs (50th %-ile)
Blood Pressure: 92/64
Vision: 20/20

Jealousy could partake in between two siblings that could result to a growing sibling rivalry. Well, seeing your posted photography defies everything all about it and just put me in writing these brief contextual texts. It did happen to my two kids, started when I brought them to a nearby Summerville dentist. I had to choose this pediatric dentistry because it was a small service also ran by my personal Summerville cosmetic dentist. During regular check-ups, one (the younger) thought of me as favoring one of them every time I let the elder one to be checked-up first. I did it because of our dentist’ advice, to let the younger one to be seen first for some pediatric psychology reasons. Because it would create some sort of leadership example to the two kids that they should learn even on their young age. Well, everything was explained, and through the years, they learned how to be a good sister for each other.
